Prenatal chiropractic care in Sarasota

Your low back, hips and pelvis carry a new load as your baby grows. We help with low back, pelvic, hip and rib pain, keep the care gentle, and keep your OB or midwife informed.

What we do on the table

A padded treatment table with a soft cushion and folded pillows in a bright room

A cushion lets you lie face down with no pressure on your belly, or we work with you on your side. Adjustments are gentle, and we skip anything that is not comfortable.

Dr. Ekwueme uses the Webster technique, a pelvic assessment and adjustment often used in pregnancy. We do not claim it turns a breech baby. Questions about your baby's position belong with your OB or midwife.

Tell your OB or midwife you see a chiropractor. Tell us about any complication, such as bleeding, high blood pressure or early contractions. With your permission, we send your provider a short note after the first visit.

Questions about chiropractic in pregnancy

Is it safe to see a chiropractor while pregnant?

Ask your OB or midwife first, since they know your pregnancy. There is little research on chiropractic in pregnancy. With their approval, we keep care gentle and stop anything that feels wrong.

Can I come in after my baby is born?

Yes. Many patients come back for the back and wrist strain of feeding and carrying a newborn. The adjusting rooms have space for a car seat.
